You’re Welcome* the Podcast
THE CHALLENGE
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit the US, three wise and beautiful women felt a call to forge meaningful connections during isolation. The Now, Now School was born from that call. Their community is rooted in mindfulness and mysticism as they explore themes of joy, wisdom, and beauty. Once a strong membership had been established, the co-founders saw an opportunity to further their reach through a podcast. Good Little Design was recruited to expand on their existing brand identity and create a new visual language for the You’re Welcome* podcast. The new system needed to appeal to their audience; a community of tender, quirky, creative misfits who seek wisdom and joy in their everyday lives.
BRAND ALIGNMENT
But first, a logo nip and tuck.
While the original Now, Now School logo was working well, it was in need of a clean-up in order to play nicely with the expansion of the brand. With a fresh new color palette and a re-kern, the mark was able to better compliment the podcast logo. An alternate mark was also created; an infinity symbol made by combining the two “N’s.” This mark is reflective of the paradoxical life balance that Now, Now School teaches its students to ponder.
APPROACH
A dictionary of obscure sorrows, joyful colors, and questions.
During our discovery session the co-founders of Now, Now school described their brand as off-center, off-beat, restorative, artful, and beautiful. The podcast art would draw influence from vintage record album covers and would reflect a modernized 1960’s/1970’s vibe. The Now, Now member base is primarily millennial women who would characterize themselves as “bohemian misfits,” and the brand needed to appeal to this audience. The logo would also need to translate to a full identity system that could be used across collateral, merchandise, and digital media.
“Like a soul party for your seeking heart, this is human school for all beings allergic to small talk. ”
NOW, NOW SCHOOL VISION STATEMENT
DIGITAL MEDIA
Creating connection through a virtual community of sweet oddballs.
The original Now, Now community grew from a strong social media following, and therefore social media played a large role in the expansion of the brand. Graphics needed to be bold with a vintage vibe and to play well with the aesthetic of each of the co-founder’s personal Instagram accounts.
