Action Together Massachusetts

THE CHALLENGE
Action Together Massachusetts (ATMA) is a politically and socially engaged community that works to advance progressive values and legislation through strategic civic engagement. When they started their female-led non-profit, they approached us to help them give a face to their organization. By providing practical tools and opportunities to like-minded individuals, ATMA works to advance progressive values and legislation with a focus on the local and state level. Many of their members were newly minted social activists in the Massachusetts area, so the brand identity needed to feel both welcoming and empowering.

APPROACH

The spirit of ATMA is strong, community-minded, caring & brave.

ATMA needed to feel patriotic but not stuffy. By playing with a more modern version of a red, white, and blue palette, we were able to maintain a connection to the democratic values that ATMA stands for while pushing the feel into a more progressive and vibrant direction.

THE MARK

Representing progressive legislation with heart.

The mark itself reflects the importance of the social issues that are at the center of the group’s mission. The final brand identity needed to differentiate ATMA from more conventional, impersonal political groups by projecting their friendly and welcoming vibe.

“We bring together individuals from across the Commonwealth to tell our stories, support progressive political values, and organize for action.”

ATMA VISION STATEMENT

The brand system provided a professional appearance for a new crop of female activists.

The brand identity helped to launch ATMA into the non-profit space. They currently stand at a membership of over 15,500 individuals, each working to change local legislation through the ATMA community.
